Zurixx Supports Light the Night Walk and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
August 28, 2017 – Zurixx is proud to announce their support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk in Woodland Hills, California.
On Saturday October 7th, survivors along with their families and friends will march to raise money to fund patient support services, lifesaving treatments, and groundbreaking research. Survivors will hold white lanterns, supporters will hold red lanterns, and gold lanterns will symbolize those walking in memory of a loved one lost to cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is estimating 1 million participants at 150 different evening walks across the U.S. and Canada.
LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Their mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services, but the impact of LLS-supported research goes beyond blood cancers. The discoveries made in blood cancer research have led to breakthrough treatments for many other types of cancers and serious diseases.
Team pages are created by groups of participants, i.e. a family or groups of friends, in an effort to pool their resources and fundraise together in the months and weeks leading up to their local chapter’s evening walk. Money raised through the walk will go towards funding treatments for patients who are suffering from all forms of blood cancers.
“The LLS is doing amazing things for the fight against blood cancer and other types of cancer,” Zurixx CEO Jim Carlson stated, “so when we were asked to help support their cause, we didn’t even need to think twice about it.”
We are supporting the California Southland Light the Night Walk in Woodland Hills, orchestrated by the Los Angeles Chapter of the LLS. With nine more weeks of fundraising left before the walk, we hope our $1,000 contribution will help them achieve their goal.
