The championship game was played against Herriman High School on May 12, 2018. Though both teams played incredibly well, Wasatch prevailed over Herriman, 19-12.
Jim Carlson, CEO of Zurixx, was elated to hear of the team’s triumph. “Wasatch High’s rugby program is relatively new, so winning the state championship is a true testament to the skills of these student-athletes. We are proud to support the Wasps, the vision of the coaches and the culture of the team and community as a whole!” said Carlson.
Zurixx has been the premier sponsor of the Wasatch High School Rugby since February 2016. The sponsorship provides support for need-based scholarships, which include USA Rugby fees, health insurance for young athletes and team uniform kits. Zurixx’s contribution also assists with equipment costs, seasonal expenses, youth camps and sending players to development programs.
