Zurixx Puerto Rico to Host First Annual Softball Fundraiser
Dorado, Puerto Rico – Zurixx’s Puerto Rico office is honored to host its first annual Softball Fundraiser on July 29, 2017 at 9:00 AM. The funds raised at the event will go to benefit cancer research as well as treatment for a local cancer patient.
The fundraising event will feature six teams as they compete for the championship in double elimination style play. Zurixx Puerto Rico’s vendors will be participating as teams, and each team will consist of 10 players, men and women, 13 years old and up. Games will take place at Polideportivo Pedro Lopez Barrio Rio, located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and will last an hour and a half or a maximum of 5 innings each.
The goal for the tournament is for the teams to raise a total of $10,000, which will be donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute (Huntsman). 100% of all donations to Huntsman go directly to cancer research. In addition, Zurixx will match 100% of the tournament’s fundraising total and donate that amount to help with a local Puerto Rican cancer patient’s treatment and expenses.
“After working so closely with Huntsman on their 5k event last month, we got to see first-hand how much good they do in the battle against cancer so we wanted to waste no time in continuing our partnership with them,” said Zurixx Puerto Rico President Cris Cannon. “However, we also wanted to make sure we used this fundraiser as an opportunity to benefit the local Puerto Rico community that has been so good to us.”
The Softball Fundraiser is the latest in a long line of fundraising events that benefit the cancer community. Most recently, Zurixx was the presenting sponsor at the Huntsman 5K, a family fun race that raised over $180,000 for cancer research.
