UPDATE: Zurixx Puerto Rico ended their toy drive with 83 gifts. They had originally set a goal to donate gifts to 50 kids, and it exceeded that goal by 33. They are now able to bring joy to 33 more children at head starts in Toa Baja and Vega Alta.
Every year, Zurixx Puerto Rico makes an effort to give back to those who are in need during the holiday season. Due to recent devastation from Hurricane Maria, many have been left without the ability to provide for their families. These families, especially the ones who have young children, are in need of extra support during the holidays.
Zurixx Puerto Rico has partnered with the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library and Dorado Head Start to bring joy to kids in need in the local community. This year, Zurixx Puerto Rico is collecting toys which will then be delivered by the Social Work Team at JSDCL Head Start. Kids participating in Head Start will be the recipients of these toys, as well as their siblings ranging in age from 3 to 12.
Toys they are collecting include:
• Toys for boys and girls age 3-12 years old.
• Educational, constructive, team-building, sports-oriented, strategy forming and academic inspired games.
“We feel very fortunate to have an opportunity to help families in need during the holidays,” said Cris Cannon, President of Zurixx Puerto Rico. “It’s wonderful to see how a simple donation can bring so much joy to a child.”
The toy drive will continue until December 20th, after which all of the donated toys will be delivered to the families. If you would like to get involved, please email Eric Rivera at email@example.com.
