Zurixx Hosts Yoga for a Cause to Help Raise Funds for Hunstman 5k

June 30, 2017 – Zurixx, as presenting sponsor of the Huntsman Cancer Institute’s 5k fun run, committed as a company to raise $25,000 for the event. However, that was not enough for one employee, who set out to help Zurixx exceed and match that goal.
Kate Yuoska-Goral, with the full support of Zurixx, organized a Yoga For A Cause event to help raise money for the Huntsman 5k. Kate works in Zurixx’s marketing department but also serves as Zurixx’s very own in-house yoga instructor. Her free hour-long yoga class was hosted in the Zurixx main area and included guests from other companies in the building as well.
The event was a huge success, raising $1,112 in donations from attendees. The event helped Zurixx crush its fundraising goal of $25,000 by raising $31,203 in total for the Huntsman 5k.
“We have actual survivors of cancer that work here every day and other people that have been affected by it,” said Kate. “So anything we can do to help support this cause is just a really great way to give back.”
Also in attendance were representatives from the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Prior to this year’s run, Huntsman 5K and Kids Fun K events had raised over $548,000 for cancer research since beginning in 2014. All funds raised for the event will be used to fund cancer research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
“Zurixx is already doing so much as a company, and then you have these ideas of just a couple of incredible people who want to do just a little bit more,” said Porter Sproul, Development Specialist at the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
