Zurixx Donates to Huntsman Cancer Institute
Recently, Zurixx donated $5,000 to the Beta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Utah for their philanthropy projects with the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Sigma Chi fraternity at the University of Utah is a philanthropy partner of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The foundation’s namesake and primary benefactor, Jon M. Huntsman, a several-time cancer survivor himself, was a member of the University of Utah Sigma Chi chapter. The Huntsman Cancer Institute is part of the University of Utah Health Care system and serves cancer patients throughout the Intermountain west and also provides academic and clinical training for future physicians and researchers. Huntsman Cancer Institute’s mission is to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.
Every year, each of Sigma Chi’s 243 chapters takes on the task of raising money for this same foundation. Historically, the University of Utah chapter has raised from $10,000 to $25,000; thanks to Zurixx’s generous support, the chapter is having a record year and is on pace to raise over $30,000 for cancer research.
