Zurixx Continues Support of the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library with $75,000 Donation
April 12, 2019 – Zurixx is continuing their partnership with the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library (JSDCL) by donating $75,000 to support the library’s mission to advance literacy, inspire lifelong learning, and transform lives.
The JSDCL is a private, nonprofit organization that serves as a lending library and community learning center in Dorado, Puerto Rico. The library offers literacy, music, and theater classes, as well as computer programs to develop and refine STEM skills, such as Girls Who Code. The JSDCL has also created six satellite community libraries within public schools located in Dorado, Vega Baja, and Vega Alta. These satellite libraries provide early education play areas, children’s books and toys, and computers with reliable connection to the JSDCL’s digital resources.
Zurixx’s partnership with the JSDCL started back in 2015, as the primary sponsor of their Vino di Mare fundraising event. Over the years, Zurixx has organized a holiday toy drive, co-hosted a “chat room” event for local teens, donated 75 laptops for library use, and more.
In March, the JSDCL was named as one of the 30 finalists for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Finalists are selected because of their significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. Zurixx is incredibly proud to support the JSDCL and larger Dorado community.
