May 2017—Salt Lake City, UT— Huntsman Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce Zurixx as its presenting sponsor for the upcoming Huntsman 5K. The Huntsman 5K is a family-friendly fun run fundraiser for cancer research on Saturday, June 17.
“We are excited to have Zurixx as the presenting sponsor of our annual 5K,” said Jen Murano, Events Director at Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “The money raised at this event will help change the lives of many and we couldn’t do it without our sponsors.”
All funds raised for the event will be used to fund cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Runners can designate to which type of cancer research they would like to have their money donated. All participants are encouraged to fundraise to help reach the goal of raising $200,000 and saving lives. To date, Huntsman 5K and Kids Fun K events have raised over $548,000 for cancer research since beginning in 2014.
“At Zurixx, we are committed to bettering the lives of our employees and the communities we serve,” said Jim Carlson, CEO of Zurixx. “Sponsoring the Huntsman 5K is one way we can promote company-wide health and wellness as well as an opportunity to donate to cancer research and continue the search for a cure.”
The run begins and ends at 200 Fort Douglas Blvd at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Because the Huntsman 5K is focused on finding cures and raising money for cancer research, participants can run, walk, or jog at their own pace. Individual runners, companies, and groups are all invited to participate. The registration deadline is Thursday, June 15. Visit bit.ly/HuntsmanHeroes to register.
