June 9, 2017 – On the evening of Tuesday June 6th, Zurixx Puerto Rico President Cris Cannon presented at the 2017 Presidential Awards Ceremony, held in Dorado, Puerto Rico at the Embassy Suites Dorado Del Mar.
The Presidential Awards Ceremony is an annual tradition recognizing the outstanding achievements of local students. A variety of awards were presented to a group of high achieving graduating seniors from Dorado Public High School José S. Alegría.
The ceremony was attended by many notable members of the community, including the Mayor of Dorado, the Honorable Carlos A López Rivera, and District 11 Representative from the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, the Honorable Rafael “Tatito” Hernández Montanez. Mayor Rivera and Representative Montanez participated in the ceremony and awarded medals to several of the outstanding students.
Zurixx donated 75 laptops to the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library (JSDCL) and was represented by Cris Cannon, who had the privilege of sitting on stage and awarding laptops to four deserving graduating seniors. The 75 laptops will be used by JSDCL to service the community at large.
Cannon was incredibly honored to represent Zurixx and reward those four graduating seniors for their community service and hard work. “In our two-year partnership, we at Zurixx have witnessed the importance of the JSDCL within the Dorado community, and we are honored to be here and celebrate the achievements of these promising young students.”
The JSDCL is a private, nonprofit organization that is open 6 days a week to Dorado students, seniors, and people of all ages. The library is a bi-lingual and bi-cultural organization whose purpose is community enrichment and development. Zurixx has been a proud partner with the Dorado Community Library System for 2 years and looks forward to continuing to support the JSDCL and larger Dorado community.
